Kentucky Obituary: SCOTTSVILLE

Two Scottsville teen-agers were killed in a two- vehicle crash in southcentral Kentucky Thursday night, Kentucky State Police said. The crash, at the junction of Ky. 101 and U.S. 31E in Allen County, killed Robert M. Layne, 17, and Michael G. Johnson, 15, police said. Layne was driving his car west on Ky. 101 and Blair E. Tucker, 55, of Castalian Springs, Tenn., was driving a truck southbound on U.S. 31E when the vehicles collided, state police said. Johnson was riding in Layne's car. One of the vehicles apparently ran a red light, according to the state police report. No charges were filed, but the Allen County coroner's office and state police said the investigation is continuing. Tucker was taken to the Sumner County Regional Hospital in Hendersonville, Tenn., where he was in stable condition in the critical-care unit. Ricky L. Shields, 46, of Scottsville was treated at the Scottsville Medical Center and released. - Johnson's survivors include his parents, Ricky Johnson and Donna Johnson; a brother, Ethan Johnson; a sister, Miranda Carter; grandparents, Bobby Shockley, Betty and Brian House and Virginia and Wendell Smith; and his great- grandmothers, Blanche Cooper and Georgia Shockley. The funeral will be 2 p.m. tomorrow at Goad Funeral Home, with burial in Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation is after 11 a.m. today. No funeral information for Layne was available.
