Oliver Brothers Reunion. At the home of Mr. Rob Oliver, near Mt. Aerial, in this county, there occurred a remarkable meeting on Tuesday, the four brothers of Mr. Oliver going to his home, together with a number of their children and grandchildren. There were present five brothers whose ages ranged from seventy to eighty-four years, Mr. Rob Oliver, 84; Mr. James Oliver, 80; Mr. Dick Oliver, 76; Mr. Wince Oliver, 73; Mr. Price Oliver, 70. No brother of this family has ever died, and all are in remarkably good health for men of their years. These five brother were born and reared and have lived for the most part of their lived within a radius of five miles of each other, in the western part of this county. On Tuesday, the four brothers of Mr. Rob Oliver and many of their children and grandchildren met at his home and enjoyed a glad happy reunion. The brother, children and grandchildren carried in a most bountiful dinner of all the good things to eat, which these people know how to prepare, and there sat down to as great a feast as ever graced the table of a King. Seventy-five happy people, and renews again their covenants of kinship and enjoyed a day of reminiscence which lifted from the shoulders of these old men the weight of their years for one day, at least, and made the way brighter for their already dimmed eyes. Mr. W.L. Dalton, our popular photographer, was present -- and made a group picture of these five brothers and even child and grandchild eagerly bought one or more. There were present from Scottsville Messrs. James Oliver, Price Oliver, A. J. Oliver and J. H. Gilliam and wife. |
